Back when I visited the site of the Buena Vista Ferry a couple of months ago, I was greeted by a local cat who took the opportunity to show me around a bit. It obviously lived at a house nearby, but came down to the ferry dock to see who the human was who was looking around. While he was there, he took the opportunity to take a drink from the nearby clear Willamette River and to see what else was there. In fact, there were a bunch of baby fish swimming around in the protected warm water in the sunshine. The following is a bit shaky, but shows what the cat could see:
