Bellingham High School has a new football coach.
Athletic director Chad Larsen announced the hiring of Adam Leonard who takes over the role following Robb Myhre’s resignation.
Leonard, originally from Las Vegas, has more than 22 years of coaching and teaching experience as a former athletic director and football coach.
He currently coaches and has been the president of Bellingham Youth Football for the past five years.
Leonard was a multi-sport athlete at the University of Puget Sound where he holds a Bachelor of Science. He also has a master’s degree in athletic administration.
Leonard lives with his wife Stefanie and their three sons in Bellingham and also serves as the director of campus recreation services at Western Washington University.
Bellingham football played an independent schedule last season, scheduling outside of the 2A Northwest Conference. The Bayhawks went 2-7, earning wins over South Whidbey and Friday Harbor.
