Blaine leads locals at Avalon girls match

Borderites finish highest as team among Whatcom County schools

Golfers returned from spring break Monday with an eight-team girls match at the Avalon Golf Links in Burlington.

Oak Harbor recorded the best team score of 498 with Lakewood finishing just one stroke behind at 499.

Lakewood’s Kiana Schroeder posted the best individual performance with a score of 81 across the 18 holes. 

Blaine finished the highest of Whatcom County teams with a team score of 592. The Borderites were led by Ellie Tanjuaquio who shot an 85. Ryleigh Pitcher shot a 114 and Krystin Kamrath finished with a 118 to round out the top three performers for Blaine.
