County extends fee waivers for flood-related damage repairs

Both emergency building repairs and sewage permit fees included

Whatcom County Executive Satpal Sidhu announced Monday he’s extending two executive orders waiving permit fees for emergency building repairs and on-site sewage permit fees related to flood damage.

Emergency repair requests need to be in no later than April 30 in order for the fee waiver to apply, according to the announcement. These waivers are only for Whatcom County residents living in the county and not incorporated towns and cities.

Specific types of fees covered by the executive orders are listed in Executive Order 2021-7 and Executive Order 2021-8
