Runners compete in 54th annual Chuckanut Foot Race

7-mile trail race starts at Marine Park and finishes at Larrabee State Park

Runners competed in the 54th annual Chuckanut Foot Race Saturday, a 7-mile trail race that begins at Marine Park in Fairhaven and concludes at Larrabee State Park. 

The race, which was first held in 1968, winds runners through the Interurban Trail, lending views of Chuckanut Bay and the San Juan Islands.

Brooks Dewaard, competing in the 21-25 age group, won first place overall, completing the race in 39:50. Kennedy Rufener was the first female finisher, competing in the 26-30 age group with a time of 42:37.
