Sehome girls golf captured its second consecutive Whatcom County Championships title Thursday, March 30, at Sudden Valley Golf Course.

Three Sehome golfers finished top four individually to help the Mariners cruise to the win with 260 team points. The Mariners were led by senior Hannah Hochsprung, who shot a 42 to win match medalist honors for the second straight year.

“Hannah is a grinder and leader,” Sehome coach Jordan Chalfant said. “It was pretty cool that she was able to win it two years in a row.”

Chalfant said he was proud of how much the team has grown in the last two years, not just in roster size but in ability.

“All of the players are hardworking,” Chalfant said. “I’m just the glorified van driver and it’s all about the girls … Our goal is to win the league title this year.”
