Current and Furbish to close on May 31

Retirement prompting closure of furniture and goods store in Fairhaven

By Charlotte Alden General Assignment/Enterprise Reporter

Current and Furbish, a new and used furniture and art store in Fairhaven, will close on May 31.

Owners Cameron Vail and Scott Ward founded Current and Furbish in Seattle in 2013 and moved the store to Bellingham in 2016. The store, located at 1115 Harris Ave., is closing because Vail is retiring, he said on Wednesday, April 3.

Nearly everything in the store is 20% off until the closing date, except for Ward’s artwork and potentially other select items, Vail said. Cash is preferred, according to an Instagram post
