Mount Baker rolls past Meridian for fifth straight victory

Mountaineers take sole possession of fourth in NWC with 14-2 win

Mount Baker softball won its fifth straight with a dominant 14-2 victory over Meridian on Thursday, April 11 at Mount Baker High School.

Meridian (4-5, 2-4 Northwest Conference) lost its second straight game, and the third in its last four. On the contrary, Mount Baker (9-1, 5-1 NWC) has now won its last four by a combined score of 53-7. The Mountaineers moved firmly into fourth place in the league standings.

Next up for Mount Baker is a non-league home game versus Elma (4-1, 2-0 Evergreen 1A League) at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 13.

Meridian will play a non-league doubleheader on April 13 at Walla Walla Community College, first facing Tenino (2-7, 0-1 Evergreen 1A League) at 9 a.m. and then Columbia (3-2, 2-0 Trico 1A League) at 2 p.m.
