Alaska Airlines resumes flights after being grounded Wednesday morning

Two Alaska flights scheduled to arrive, depart Bellingham International Airport this afternoon

All Alaska Airlines flights have resumed after they were grounded for about an hour Wednesday morning, April 17, according to an advisory from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration.

One Alaska flight is due to arrive at Bellingham International Airport at 12:27 p.m. Wednesday, and another Alaska flight is scheduled to depart from BLI at 1:08 p.m. Both flights are showing on-time arrival and departure, according to BLI’s flight tracker.

Alaska said in a statement it had experienced an issue “while performing an upgrade to the system that calculates our weight and balance,” the Seattle Times reported. Flights were grounded at about 7:50 a.m., according to the statement.

Any flights operated by SkyWest Airlines were not affected by the ground stop, according to the FAA.
