JESSE’S PICKS

Christian Casolary: Candlelight Jazz Show
6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, FireHouse Arts and Events Center, 1314 Harris Ave.

Drummer Christian Casolary has been organizing an occasional series of jazz shows at the Firehouse throughout the year. For the last one of the year he’s bringing out the candles. He’ll perform with a trio featuring pianist Bill Anschell and bassist Chris Symer, and the whole place will be lit with candlelight. That’s at the Firehouse at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 11.

Full Color Dream
9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, The Shakedown, 1212 N. State St.

The indie rockers in Full Color Dream have had a big year. After putting out their first album at the end of 2023, they did another one in the middle of this year and are already hard at work on a third. They’re taking a moment to celebrate how far they’ve come with a show at The Shakedown on Thursday, Dec. 12, with Babes in Canyon and Arcana. They’re also playing the Conway Muse the very next night with Checker Bloom.

Red Karma
9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13, Bar Two Eleven, 211 E. Chestnut St.

Let’s be real: If you spend all the money to go to a Taylor Swift concert, a high percentage of the sound you are hearing is not coming from the stage. It’s the voices of the people all around you singing their hearts out. So if you’re a Swiftie mourning the end of the Eras Tour, why not catch the high-quality Taylor Swift tribute band Red Karma at Bar Two Eleven on Friday, Dec. 13, and sing along with all you’ve got. You’re going to have a great time and it’ll be a lot cheaper.

Dean Johnson
8:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, Wild Buffalo, 208 W. Holly St.

Seattle singer/songwriter/guitarist Dean Johnson is well known around here for playing lead guitar and singing perfect harmonies with The Sons of Rainier, but lately he’s been more focused on his solo work. His album from last year, “Nothing For Me, Please,” is a low-key charmer filled with delicate country/folk songs. He’s spending a couple weeks touring the West Coast, and stopping by the Wild Buffalo on Saturday, Dec. 14.
