Whatcom County librarians and booksellers have officially selected “No Two Persons” by Erica Bauermeister as their 2025 Whatcom Reads pick, according to a Thursday, Dec. 12 announcement.
Now in its 17th year, Whatcom Reads celebrates “reading, readers and strong communities through the shared experience of one book.” The countywide program encompasses a range of community programs and discussions, each inspired by the novel’s themes.
The author will be present for events from March 12–15, 2025, including a five-course meal inspired by “No Two Persons” (March 12), a “Sip and Savor” tasting at Bellewood Farms (March 13), an “Art and Craft of Writing” presentation (March 14) and a live talk at Mount Baker Theatre (March 14).
Bauermeister is a New York Times bestselling author and author of five novels, including the Reese Witherspoon’s Book Club pick “The Scent Keeper.” Her most recent book, “No Two Persons,” is described as a “a gloriously original celebration of fiction, and the ways it deepens our lives.” It was selected as one of Newsweek’s Best Books of 2023.
Other 2025 Whatcom Reads events include a Make a Meander Book Workshop (various dates and locations, January–May), Buoy Painting “Workship” with Bellingham SeaFeast (January–April) and The Life of an Audiobook Narrator with Jayne Entwistle (Saturday, Feb. 22 in the Whatcom Museum Rotunda Room).
Whatcom Reads is Northwest Washington’s premier annual literary event and is presented by all public and academic libraries in Whatcom County. Village Books is a community partner. For more information, or to see a list of previous years’ selections, visit whatcomreads.org.
