JESSE’S PICKS
Vision Video
8 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, Shakedown, 1212 N. State St.
The last time Vision Video came through town, their modern take on goth post-punk absolutely blew away the crowd at the Shakedown. I wasn’t there but I heard about it afterward from a lot of people. The Athens, Georgia band is coming back to the same venue on Tuesday, June 25.
Blues, Brews & BBQ: Lost At Last
5 p.m. Thursday, June 27, Hotel Bellwether, 1 Bellwether Way
The Hotel Bellwether’s Blues, Brews, and BBQs series is a popular destination on Thursday nights throughout the summer, with entertaining music in an incredible location. That kicks off this Thursday, June 27 with classic rock and country from Lost At Last.
Boulevard Concert Series: GrooveBot
6 p.m. Friday, June 28, Boulevard Park, 470 Bayview Ave.
Speaking of popular outdoor shows, this summer the Bellingham Parks Department is sponsoring three concerts at Boulevard Park. The first one is Friday, June 28 and features R&B, soul and funk covers from GrooveBot.
Middle Sattre
8 p.m. Saturday, June 29, Ramble Tamble, 1313 N. State St.
Middle Sattre is a group from Austin, Texas, who make gorgeous, ethereal folk/pop (Sufjan Stevens would be a pretty good reference point). The group started as just singer/songwriter Hunter Prueger but has expanded to an eight-piece lineup by the time of their most recent album. I’m not sure how many of them will be at Ramble Tamble on Saturday, June 29, but it should be a great show regardless.
