Gather your tote bags and gumption for long lines, a second Trader Joe’s location could be on its way, according to a permit filing with the City of Bellingham.

A demolition permit filed by Issaquah-based B&T Design and Engineering for 4255 Meridian St., the location of the former Bed Bath & Beyond that closed in 2023, was approved on Monday, June 24.

The engineering firm’s client is Trader Joe’s Company, headquartered in Monrovia, California.

Included in the approved demolition plan is the Trader Joe’s store number, 274, along with plans to remove some of the remaining office space in the location.

CDN has reached out to Trader Joe’s for comment.

The demolition permit expires on June 13, 2025.

The existing Trader Joe’s, located at 2401 James St., opened in 2007, according to the Bellingham Business Journal.
