Downtown Bellingham will soon welcome two new nightlife locales, Mothership Live and Pin-Up Arcade Bar, according to recent liquor license applications.
Mothership Live will be located at 1211 Cornwall Ave., Suite B, and was approved for a liquor license on Friday, March 22. The speakeasy-style lounge is connected to the back of Headquarters Barbershop.
Owner Brian Womack, who is Black, emphasized the space is meant to provide “entertainment from our culture” — namely live music, jazz, blues and comedy. Womack expects Mothership Live to open on Thursday, April 18, and said opening weekend will include a diverse event lineup.
The Pin-Up Arcade Bar filed for a liquor license on Feb. 21 and will be located at 118 W. Holly St., the same space as the recently closed Endgame Bellingham. Owners Hugh and Alex Newmark also own 1-Up Lounge in Fairhaven.
Hugh said Pin-Up Arcade Bar’s buildout will be finalized within two weeks as of Tuesday, March 26, and they expect to be open for business by late May. The downtown spot will be 21-plus, whereas 1-Up Lounge remains all-ages until 7 p.m.
