A 22-year-old East Wenatchee woman was sentenced to six-and-a-half years in prison for killing a woman in a drunk driving crash on Interstate 5 in 2022.

Annastacia Lough pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide under the influence on Wednesday, Nov. 13 in front of a Whatcom County Superior Court judge.

On the evening of Feb. 1, 2022, Lough was driving a red 2007 Lexus IS and was traveling northbound in the southbound lane of I-5 near the Nulle Road exit, according to the Bellingham Herald at the time. Lough struck a 1998 Toyota Avalon that was traveling southbound head-on.

Several people reported to 911 that a driver was traveling the wrong way in the roadway.

The driver of the Toyota, a 31-year-old Bothell woman, Stephanie Chinn, was pronounced dead on scene. A dog was also killed in the crash.

Lough was transported to the hospital and recovered from extensive injuries.

Lough’s blood alcohol limit at the time of the crash was 0.19, double the legal BAC.

She was booked into Whatcom County Jail a year later on Thursday, Feb. 16, according to the Herald.

In addition to the prison sentence, Lough will serve 18 months in community custody when she’s released. Additionally, she will have to pay legal fees and restitution.
