Graduate students in Western Washington University’s psychology department will offer free counseling to community members starting in January 2025.

Under faculty supervision and through Western’s Counseling Training Clinic, grad students will offer individual counseling to adults, teens and children. From January to June, in-person services will be available to all ages, while telehealth services are available for those ages 13 and older, according to a news release.

The graduate student counselors are trained to help with a range of issues, including “depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, vocational choices, grief, communication problems, parent-child conflicts and childhood issues,” Western said in the release.

Interested community members can call the Counseling Training Clinic at 360-650-3184.

Western students can access mental health services through the Counseling and Wellness Center at 360-650-3164.
