Bellingham ‘exits the ordinary’ in second annual arts festival

Comedy, music and visual art took over downtown Oct. 10–13

From Oct. 10–13, the second annual Bellingham Exit Festival encouraged audiences to “exit the ordinary” — if only for a weekend. The four-day event featured concerts, live entertainment and free pop-up shows at venues across Bellingham, from Mount Baker Theatre to Mallard Ice Cream.

Performer Reggie Watts, comedian Laura Ramoso and musical group Joseph headlined this year’s festival. The eclectic lineup included national acts as well as local musicians, such as Checker Bloom, The Rhetorician and Smooth Kiwi.

This year’s Bellingham Exit also included an art market with more than 30 vendors and pass options for late-night EDM shows. While this year’s numbers aren’t yet released, the 2023 festival sold 7,800 tickets and accrued $10,451 in net ordinary income.
