State Route 20 closed at Marblemount through Friday morning

Drivers will be detoured as crews work on fish passage project

By Charlotte Alden General Assignment/Enterprise Reporter

State Route 20 will be closed at Marblemount through Friday, Sept. 13 at 6 a.m. for modification of a fish passage on Olson Creek near Ranger Road.

Drivers will face a signed detour as crews work to remove the existing culvert on Olson Creek, construct a new bridge and build retaining wall, according to a Washington State Department of Transportation news release. Crews will also pave, stripe and install guardrail on the road during the closure.

“The new fish-passage structure will open approximately 1.5 miles of habitat, making it easier for native species of fish such as trout and salmon to navigate the creek,” WSDOT officials said in the release.

Drivers can get real-time updates on road closures at the WSDOT Travel Map.
