This sad heart wants to let you know that the six-pound mighty mouse, Samuel, passed on April 1, 2025. He was adopted by his person in 2013 after being pulled from the euthanasia list at Mesa Arizona Animal Control. For twelve years Samuel was Susanne’s best friend and family. More than anything else, he loved going to the park to promenade and poke around at his leisure. Maybe you saw the little guy sauntering down the hill wearing a hi-viz fleece. He was fearless, loyal, stubborn, fragile, and sensitive. Like most rescues, Samuel endured far too much. Sometimes he was a little dickens, but he never barked at or harassed another animal. Thank you to our friends who loved and appreciated him and tolerated his quirks. He did the best that he could. Special gratitude is extended to the dear baristas at Fairhaven Starbucks for gifting him with pup cups over the past eight years. Also to Dr. Kristin Williams and everyone at Northshore Veterinary Clinic for their kindness and care. In his memory, please be extra generous with your patience and let your dogs take their time sniffing and socializing. Please use a harness and don’t yank on their leashes. Please pick up their poop. And most of all, please adopt. Rescue organizations need your support and are bursting with deserving buddies waiting for loving and responsible forever homes.
