Task force members will discuss recent changes to booking restrictions and interim solutions to address jail capacity and public safety concerns.

Port of Bellingham Commission
9 a.m. Tuesday, April 1, Chuckanut North Room, 4260 Mitchell Way, Bellingham

Port of Bellingham commissioners will meet with port senior staff to discuss redevelopment of industrial properties at the Bellingham International Airport.

Whatcom County as the Health Board
10 a.m. Tuesday, April 1, 311 Grand Ave., Bellingham, or online

The county’s executive office will present to the council on the process to fill the Health and Community Services director position, after Erika Lautenbach’s termination on March 19.

Annual Lake Whatcom Joint Councils and Commissions meeting
6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, 210 Lottie St., Bellingham, or online

Local leaders from the Bellingham City Council, Whatcom County Council and the Lake Whatcom Water and Sewer District Board of Commissioners will gather to hear about the progress that has been made to protect and preserve Lake Whatcom and discuss future actions.

Whatcom County Homeless Housing Plan survey. Deadline: Ongoing

Provide feedback to the county on how homeless resources should be used, and what strategies should be prioritized to address homelessness. Survey online.

Bellingham Plan feedback. Deadline: Ongoing

The City of Bellingham will publish updated draft summaries of each chapter of the city’s comprehensive plan as they are reviewed by the Planning Commission. Members of the public can provide comments on each chapter as they become available. Survey online.

Bellingham proposed rental fee ordinances. Deadline: Ongoing

Bellingham City Council is accepting feedback on proposed ordinances that would limit fees for rental properties and manufactured/mobile homes. Survey online.

Bellingham Urban Forest Plan feedback. Deadline: Ongoing

You can still provide feedback on Bellingham’s first-ever Urban Forest Plan, which will guide how the community protects and enhances the trees and forests that make up Bellingham’s urban forest. An urban forest includes everything from street trees, parks and forested open spaces to trees on private property. Provide feedback here.

City of Nooksack community survey. Deadline: Ongoing

The City of Nooksack is seeking feedback from people who live or work in Nooksack on how the city should grow over the next 20 years, as part of the city’s 2025 Comprehensive Plan update. Survey online.


Water System Plan update. Deadline: Spring 2025

The goal of a Water System Plan is to make sure the City of Bellingham understands current and future demands on the system, so it can ensure everyone has reliable access to clean, safe drinking water now and in the future. Tell them why water quality is important to you. Survey online.
