Downtown Sounds, which began as a modest gathering in an alley, has turned into an annual celebration of community, music and vendors, attracting bands from across the country. Early in the evening Wednesday, July 12, the band The Cosmic Neighborhood energized the crowd with self-described sounds of “tropicalia music from the modern age.” As the evening settled in, the band Reposado stepped out with a buzz of warm spirit, carrying its way through the dense crowd. With its wide range of music and activities, Downtown Sounds is earning its title as downtown Bellingham’s hottest summer attraction.
