Bellingham pedestrian dies in Tuesday night collision

Incident still under investigation

A Bellingham man died after being struck by a vehicle on East Axton Road Tuesday night.  

Washington State Patrol responded to a report of a fatal traffic collision 11:18 p.m. Tuesday. Kaycee Antila, 24, was driving east on East Axton Road when she hit pedestrian Tyler Ford, 37, who was walking in the east lane. Ford was dead at the scene, according to a Washington State Patrol report.  

Antila, who was wearing her seat belt, was unharmed. It is unknown whether drugs or alcohol were involved, according to the report.  

The incident is still under investigation and no charges have been filed.
