Meet CDN’s new sports reporter

Nick Zeller-Singh has joined Cascadia Daily News

Reporter Nick Zeller-Singh has joined Cascadia Daily News as a sports reporter covering Western Washington University athletics, prep teams in Whatcom and Skagit counties, a wide variety of recreation and outdoors topics and the Bellingham Bells.

He previously worked two years covering sports for Kitsap News Group, a part of Sound Publishing.

“I am super excited to work at Cascadia Daily News. When I first saw the job was open, I knew I had to apply immediately. It was an easy decision because of the great staff, editors and I get to live alongside numerous family members in Whatcom County,” he said.

Nick began his sports media career doing play-by-play and interviews during youth football while growing up in Concord, California. He graduated from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University in 2022 with a major in sports journalism and minor in digital audience.

During his four years, he created video packages, did on-camera analysis, wrote stories, took photos and hosted a few radio shows on the school station.

When Nick is not working, he enjoys spending time with his family in the area, refereeing or umpiring and collecting sports cards/memorabilia.

Reach him at nickzellersingh@cascadiadaily.com or call 925-639-1107.

Nick replaces Connor J. Benintendi, who left to work for All Seahawks FN.
