Shooting leaves 2 men with life-threatening injuries

Detectives still searching for suspect

The Bellingham Police Department is investigating a shooting in the Roosevelt neighborhood of Bellingham Sunday that left two men injured with life-threatening wounds.

BPD responded to a report that a man was shot near the 2300 block of Valencia Street on Sunday.

When officers arrived, they found one person shot and immediately began rendering aid, according to a BPD report. During that time, another victim with gunshot wounds arrived via a personal vehicle at PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center. Both men, ages 28 and 31, sustained life-threatening injuries, according to the police report.

No clear motive for the shooting has been established and there is no threat to the public at this time, the report stated.
