JESSE’S PICKS

Bars 101: Hip-Hop Showcase
8 p.m. Thursday, April 25, Wild Buffalo, 208 W. Holly St.

The Wild Buffalo is hosting a showcase with some excellent local hip-hop. They’re calling it Bars 101, and it’s organized by the same folks who do the “Shut Up and Listen” podcast. Check out Dsven, Yonny, Yogirlcallmesenpai & Neffy3600 and fantompower all in one night.

Foamboy
9 p.m. Friday, April 26, The Shakedown, 1212 N. State St.

Portland duo Foamboy make catchy, fun pop, mostly electronic but with some live instrumentation and just a dash of jazzy harmony. They just put out their second album and they’ll be at The Shakedown on Friday, April 26.

Charles Moothart
8 p.m. Saturday, April 27, Make.Shift, 306 Flora St.

Charles Moothart is a SoCal garage rock luminary who has played in Ty Segall’s band and with the group Fuzz. He’s doing a West Coast tour with his group The Fast Band, and they’ll be making a stop at Make.Shift on Saturday, April 27. Openers include Tangle Map, a promising new local garage rock duo.

Kris Delmhorst
7 p.m. Sunday, April 28, New Prospect Theatre, 207 Prospect St.

Kris Delmhorst is a highly acclaimed singer-songwriter from Massachusetts, who used to make regular tour stops at the old Green Frog. She’s coming back to town on Sunday, April 28 for a seated show at the New Prospect Theatre, which is a great place to appreciate this sort of quiet, lyric-focused music.
