Unbeaten Sehome shuts out Bellingham in rivalry bout

Mariners stay atop NWC standings with 11th straight win

By Connor J. Benintendi Sports Editor

Sehome boys soccer continued to prove it’s a tier above the rest of the Northwest Conference with a 3-0 shutout of rival Bellingham on Monday, April 15 at Bellingham High School.

The Mariners moved to 10-0-0 on the season overall (6-0-0 NWC) and won their 11th straight game dating back to the 2A state third/fourth place game last season. It was also Sehome’s fourth shutout of the season.

Bellingham (8-3-0, 4-2-0 NWC) has now lost two of its last three matches after winning seven straight from March 14–27.

Seniors Noah Tepker, Noah Allen and Asher Sullivan each scored once for Sehome in the win.

Next up for Sehome is a home match versus Anacortes (3-5-4, 2-3-1 NWC) at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17. Bellingham will travel to Sedro-Woolley (3-7-0, 0-4-0 NWC) for a 7 p.m. match on Thursday, April 18.
