No injuries in Squalicum Harbor fishing boat fire

68-foot 'Alaskan Girl' engulfed in flames early Sunday morning

Firefighters battled flames on a 68-foot fishing boat, “Alaskan Girl,” at Squalicum Harbor Marina early Sunday morning, Oct. 27.

“Our crews quickly put out the fire with handlines from our fire engines and the fireboat,” the Bellingham Fire Department stated on its Facebook page.

One person was on the boat when the fire started, but was able to safely exit the boat without injury, confirmed the fire department.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Video of the incident below was posted to Facebook by the fire department.
